🌱 A Little Invitation to Grow
A small invitation to connect with nature through planting, noticing, and caring for what grows.
These handmade seed cones contain native seeds and can be gently placed in suitable soil, where rain, warmth, and time can begin their work.
As the plants emerge, they offer opportunities to notice seasonal change, support local pollinators, and experience the quiet pleasure of watching something grow.
Plant gently. Notice what changes. Make space for the life that follows. 🌱
How to Plant
Place the seed cone on bare soil in a suitable growing location and gently press it into the surface.
Water lightly if conditions are dry, and allow rain, warmth, and the changing seasons to do the rest.
Native plants may take time to emerge. Part of the invitation is simply to notice, wait, and see what happens.
Plant only where you have permission and where the included native species are appropriate for the location.
🌿 A Simple Invitation to Notice
Nature connection doesn’t always require a special place or a long period of time. A few quiet moments outdoors can be enough to begin noticing what is already around us.
The next time you step outside, you might pause and wonder:
What is moving?
What can I hear nearby and farther away?
What catches my attention?
What has changed since I was last here?
There is no need to find anything particular.
Simply notice what invites your attention.
🌱 With Children
Children often notice things adults pass by.
Rather than needing to name or explain everything, we can sometimes simply follow their attention.
You might ask:
What did you notice?
What does it remind you of?
What are you wondering about?
And sometimes, no question is needed at all.
A shared moment of looking, listening, touching, or wondering can be its own form of connection.
📚 Nature, Stories & Curiosity
Stories can open another pathway into the natural world.
After reading a nature-inspired story, try stepping outside and looking for something that connects with it — not necessarily the same animal, plant, or place, but perhaps a sound, movement, colour, texture, question, or feeling.
A story doesn’t have to end when the book closes.
It can become an invitation to notice what is happening just outside the door.
🌿 More to Come
This collection will continue to grow slowly with seasonal invitations, practical resources, and reflections from Kinwood Echoes.
There is no need to do everything.
Choose one invitation, take it with you, and see where it leads.
