About your Guide

Kinwood Echoes is guided by Veena P. Sivan — a parent, educator, and certified Forest Therapy Guide who brings together science, nature connection, and thoughtful care for both children and adults.

Veena is a certified Forest Therapy Guide trained through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT). Her forest therapy walks are slow, sensory, and invitation-based, supporting nervous-system regulation, presence, and a deeper relationship with the natural world. Her role as a guide is to hold a calm, inclusive container — allowing each participant to meet the land, and themselves, at their own pace.

With a background in science and STEM education, Veena brings a grounded, observational lens to her work. She facilitates hands-on workshops and classroom presentations for groups of 25–30 children, developing strong skills in group awareness, pacing, and clear communication. These skills translate naturally into her small-group nature programs for children, where calm leadership, predictable rhythm, and emotional safety are central.

Veena is Wilderness First Aid certified, with training in outdoor risk awareness, wildlife safety, and emergency response. Whether guiding adults or children, safety, supervision, and thoughtful planning are non-negotiable foundations of her work.

As a parent herself, Veena is deeply aware that every child — and every adult — brings a unique temperament, energy level, and way of engaging with the world. Her approach balances structure with flexibility, offering clear boundaries while honoring autonomy and individual needs.

Across all Kinwood Echoes offerings — forest therapy walks and children’s nature camps — Veena’s guiding philosophy remains the same:
to slow down, to listen, and to create spaces where connection with nature supports wellbeing, curiosity, and a sense of belonging.
